Support
Stuck, spotted a bug, or want to ask about your data? Email hello@myeczemaapp.com and a real person will get back to you. We reply within 5 working days.
It helps if you tell us your phone model and whether you're on iPhone or Android. Please don't send photos of your skin or details of your health: we don't need them to help you.
MyEczema can't give medical advice. If your skin is suddenly much worse, looks infected, or you feel unwell, call NHS 111 or use 111.nhs.uk. In an emergency, call 999.
Getting started
Why does the app ask if I'm 16 or over?
MyEczema is for people aged 16 and over. The answer is stored only on your phone and we never see it. If you're under 16, the app won't be available to you.
Do I need an account?
No. The diary works without one. You only need to sign in if you want a username on your community reviews, and you can rate and review without signing in at all.
Your diary and backups
Where is my data?
On your phone, encrypted. We don't have a copy, and it isn't included in iCloud or Android device backups.
How do I back up my diary?
Go to Settings > Data & Privacy > Backup Data, choose a passphrase, then save or send the file somewhere safe. The backup includes your photos. Keep the passphrase somewhere safe too, because we can't open the file without it.
How do I restore a backup?
Go to Settings > Data & Privacy > Restore Data, pick the backup file, and enter its passphrase when asked. Restoring can overwrite what's already on the phone.
I lost my phone. Can you get my diary back?
Only if you made a backup. Your diary only ever lived on your phone, so without a backup file there's no copy anywhere for us to recover.
Why did some old entries disappear?
Diary entries are deleted automatically once they're more than 365 days old.
Deleting your data
- Everything on your phone: Settings > Data & Privacy > Clear All Data. This can't be undone.
- Your community account too: Settings > Data & Privacy > Delete my account. This deletes your account, your email address, the reviews and ratings you posted under your username, and everything on your phone. Anything you posted anonymously stays up without a name. You can also email hello@myeczemaapp.comfrom the address you sign in with and we'll delete your account for you.
- Anything else we hold, like anonymous reviews, analytics or a website signup: email hello@myeczemaapp.com and we'll help you find and delete it.
Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Codes come from noreply@myeczemaapp.com. Check your spam or junk folder. Each code works for 10 minutes, so if it's been longer, ask for a new one.
How do I report or block someone?
You can report any review from inside the app, and we review every report. You can also block the person who wrote it, so you won't see their reviews any more. Blocks are kept on your phone, and you can see or undo them in Settings > Blocked users.
Why can't I see reviews of my prescription cream?
Reviews of prescription-only medicines aren't shown publicly.
