1. Agreement to terms

By downloading, installing, or using myEczemaApp ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. The App is operated by MyEczemaHealth ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales.

2. Not medical advice

myEczemaApp is a personal tracking and wellness tool. It is not a medical device, and nothing in the App constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The App helps you record your skin symptoms, lifestyle factors, and treatments so you can spot patterns over time. Any insights, recommendations, or predictions generated by the App's AI features are based on pattern analysis of your logged data. They are not clinical recommendations and should never be used as a substitute for professional medical advice.

Always consult a qualified healthcare professional (such as your GP or dermatologist) before making changes to your treatment plan. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

You use the App and rely on its outputs entirely at your own risk.

3. Description of the service

myEczemaApp provides:

  • Daily health logging - record flare severity, symptoms (itch, redness, dryness, oozing), stress, sleep, diet, medications, triggers, mood, and photos.
  • Treatment management - track your creams and medications with reminders.
  • Treatment experiments - structured plans to test whether a treatment works for you.
  • AI pattern analysis - uses Google Gemini to identify potential correlations between your logged factors and flare severity (Pro/Pro+ feature).
  • Community features - browse, vote on, and review eczema treatments via EczemaRank.
  • GP referral tracking - track the stages of your NHS referral journey.

4. Subscription tiers and pricing

The App offers three tiers:

Free

  • Daily logging with all symptom and lifestyle fields.
  • Medication tracking with reminders.
  • 7 days of log history.
  • 4 free AI analyses (lifetime).
  • Community features (browse, vote, review).

Pro - from £2.99/month or £29.99/year

  • Everything in Free.
  • 30 days of log history.
  • Unlimited AI pattern analysis.
  • AI coaching conversations.

Pro+ - from £4.99/month or £49.99/year

  • Everything in Pro.
  • 365 days of log history.
  • Treatment experiment plans.
  • Priority access to new features.

Prices are shown in GBP. Actual pricing may vary by region and is displayed in the App Store or Google Play at the time of purchase.

5. Free trials and promotional codes

We may offer free trial periods or promotional codes that grant temporary access to Pro or Pro+ features. Trial periods are typically 7 days, though promotional codes may offer 14 days. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will not automatically renew from a trial - you must actively subscribe.

Promotional codes are subject to availability and may be single-use or limited-use. We reserve the right to revoke codes that are abused or shared beyond their intended audience.

6. Payment and cancellation

All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not handle your payment information directly. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

To cancel your subscription:

  • iOS - Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > myEczemaApp > Cancel.
  • Android - Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > myEczemaApp > Cancel.

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective refund policies. We cannot process refunds directly.

7. Data retention

Your log history is retained on your device based on your subscription tier (7 days for Free, 30 days for Pro, 365 days for Pro+). Older entries are automatically removed by the App.

If your subscription expires or you downgrade, there is a 30-day grace period during which your data is retained at your previous tier's level. After this grace period, entries older than your current tier's limit will be removed. We recommend creating a backup before downgrading.

8. AI-generated content

The App uses Google Gemini to analyse patterns in your logged data. AI-generated insights, trigger identification, recommendations, and flare risk predictions are provided for informational purposes only.

AI outputs may be:

  • Inaccurate or incomplete, particularly with limited data (fewer than 7 days of logs).
  • Based on correlations that may not reflect actual causation.
  • Different each time an analysis is run, even with the same data.

AI insights are not clinical recommendations. They are starting points for conversations with your healthcare provider, not instructions to follow. Do not change your medication, diet, or treatment plan based solely on AI output from this App.

9. Community content

The Community tab allows you to browse, vote on, and review treatments via EczemaRank. By submitting a review or vote, you agree that:

  • Your review content will be publicly visible on EczemaRank (eczemarank.co.uk) and within the App.
  • You will not submit false, misleading, or malicious content.
  • We may remove reviews that violate these Terms or are otherwise inappropriate.
  • Other users' reviews represent personal experiences and are not verified medical advice.

Evidence labels

Treatments on EczemaRank may carry evidence labels such as "guideline-backed", "early research", or "community experience". These labels indicate the type of evidence available, not a guarantee of effectiveness. "Guideline-backed" means the treatment appears in published clinical guidelines. "Early research" means there is preliminary scientific evidence. "Community experience" means the rating is based on user votes and reviews only.

10. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
  • Keep your device and backup files secure, as we cannot recover lost data.
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App.
  • Not use the App or Community features to distribute harmful, abusive, or misleading content.
  • Not interfere with or disrupt the App's services or the EczemaRank platform.

11. Intellectual property

The App, its original content (excluding user-generated community content), features, and functionality are owned by MyEczemaHealth and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

By submitting reviews to EczemaRank, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and use your review content within the App and on eczemarank.co.uk. You retain ownership of your review content and may request its removal by contacting us.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
  • We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury arising from your use of the App.
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.
  • We are not liable for any health outcomes resulting from actions taken based on AI-generated insights, community reviews, or any other content within the App.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

13. Data deletion

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all data at any time by uninstalling the App. You can also delete individual log entries, medications, or experiments from within the App.

14. Changes to these terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

For material changes (such as changes to pricing, data handling, or liability), we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the App or our website.

15. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate or restrict access to the Community features if you violate these Terms, particularly regarding abusive or misleading content.

Termination of community access does not affect your local data, which remains on your device.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
